Join our May workshop to learn using weeds for Saute’es, Soups, Cookies, Pancakes, Smoothies … and more!
Providing you maintain an organic yard, edible weeds are highly nutritious, delicious, easy to prepare, and free!
A few edible weeds growing in Northeast Indiana yards this May are Dandelions, Fleabane, Plantain, Wood Sorrell, Violets, Wild allium (onion, garlic), Purple Dead Nettle, and Ground Ivy (Creeping Charlie). Lambsquarter will flourish all summer, providing “wild spinach”, and it is a beautiful plant.
You will learn:
· How weeds benefit your yard and garden
· Maintaining an organic yard
· Identifying Fort Wayne area yard weeds
· Harvesting
· Cleaning and storing
· Preparation for eating
· Recipes! Sautés. Soups. Cookies. Pancakes. Smoothies, and more!!
· We will prepare & sample dishes
· Online resources
When: Saturday, May 13, 2023, 1-4 pm
Where: Private home near Crescent/State in Fort Wayne IN (address received upon payment of class fee)
