This is my long-promised comprehensive meditation handbook for personal and spiritual transformation!
Practical guidelines detail out 14 different techniques gleaned from multiple traditions.
Why did I write another book on meditation, when so many already exist?
Over the 45 years I have meditated, taught meditation, and led retreats, people have asked me for a comprehensive, realistic, and clear handbook.
I am frequently approached by people confused by the diversity of methods, uncertain and discouraged with their personal practice, or uncomfortable with a perceived requirement to be connected with a specific spiritual or religious tradition.
New meditators begin with enthusiasm, eventually giving up when results don't appear forthcoming.
The problem is not that people don't have access to the "how" of meditation; it is that they don't feel successful in the "doing" of it.
This handbook seeks to address the challenges and confusion of meditation. Beginning with a brief history, benefits, and methods to settle the mind, the reader is led through techniques, step-by-step. Methods are offered from multiple traditions.
The reader is led through personal stories and guided to put their meditation experience into intentional application in daily living through the "Meditation in Action" sections.
"Frequently Asked Questions" answers a multitude of challenges, leaving the reader with new insight and encouragement.
This is the book i would have wanted when first beginning meditation over 45 years ago.
